Bin
Labeling -
Identifying
bin locations for put ups and pulling of inventory. The operator
scans in the bar code on the label to ensure the proper product
match is made and then this information is stored for later
retrieval. Color coding is also common for this application. |

Pallet/Carton
Labeling/Compliance Carton Labeling
- Shipping labels for whole pallets and/or individual cartons.
Especially common for warehouses/manufacturers shipping to

automate their warehouses. |

Receiving
Labels - Upon receipt of goods, bar coded
labels are applied, information is scanned and captured, and
product is "put away" in bins. The bins are also
labeled so the bin label is scanned when the product is put
away to identify its location. The process of labeling cartons/products
in receiving is eliminated if the receiver has a compliance
program forcing the shipper to pre-label per the receiver's
format. Color coding of labels is also common and a good application
for color thermal transfer. |

Chemical
Drum Labeling - Under
strict legislation by the government, drums of chemicals must
be labeled permanently to identify the products, their hazardous
characteristics, proper disposal, lot code, etc. Much of this
information is bar coded and each label contains various information.
Labels must be permanent and resistant to weather and chemicals
within the drum. These labels also contain
color coded symbols. |

Patient
ID Labels - Dozens
of these labels are printed at the admissions desk and are
sent to the nursing station on the floor the patient is on.
The patient's wristband is applied and then all lab work,
drugs, etc. are identified with these same bar coded labels.
Prior to administering drugs, the wristband is scanned and
drug is scanned to ensure a match. Labels are applied to all
specimens that go to the lab to ensure identification back
to the patient. |
