Receiving Labels - Upon receipt of goods, bar coded labels are applied, information is scanned and captured, and product is "put away" in bins. The bins are also labeled so the bin label is scanned when the product is put away to identify its location. The process of labeling cartons/products in receiving is eliminated if the receiver has a compliance program forcing the shipper to pre-label per the receiver's format. Color coding of labels is also common and a good application for color thermal transfer.
